This is the sketch challenge today over at SCS. I took one look and almost didn’t do the challenge! lol! I was almost at a loss because making tall cards can be pretty challenging. But . . . they don’t call it a challenge for nothing, right? I decided to combine it with the GSG Color Challenge of So Saffron, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery. That defined my starting point.
The card is actually much prettier IRL . . . I don’t know what was going on with my lighting today . . . but I couldn’t get that Regal Rose to show up like Regal Rose. It looks Cameo Coral to me. Hopefully your computer will be kinder to you than mine is being to me.
After I put flipped over the fold of the card so that the inside is showing on the right, I attached my panels. I used So Saffron and Certainly Celery Designer Prints paper. I can’t tell you how many times these designer prints save the day for me. I love that there are so many lovely designs to choose from in each pack. It really makes for easy creating.
My Heartfelt Thanks stamp set was still sitting on my desk from yesterday’s card creation. I decided to use it again because . . . well . . . Certainly Celery and Regal Rose just seems like it’s perfect for a flower image. Then, I needed to do something to fill in some of that yellow space on the left side of the card. The words heartfelt worked perfectly stamped three times along the edge. But what could I do to bling it up a bit? Aaaahhhh, rhinestone brads! I took a tip I read on JanTink’s blog and cut their little legs off and put them on with glue dots. A little blingy brad in my flower center, a bit of ribbon once over and put on with another glue dot and I was done. I like my tall, tall card! On the inside it says Thanks.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
