I learned some neat things at convention and one of them will really help me in demonstrating scrapbooking how tos at my workshops. I’ve always hesitated a bit with scrapbooking because I knew that some of the people at my workshops were there for the cards . . . but then there are always a few who want to walk down the scrapbooking path. Well, now I know!! At convention, I learned that you can do both and use pretty much the same supplies for each. The 6×6 page above uses the same colors and pretty much the same basic design as the 6×3 card below. So, the people that want to make the page . . . can! But, the people who want to focus just on cards . . . can! I love it. I cut all the same supplies . . . provide the same colors and inks for both and the customer chooses!!
Here is the coordinating card that uses the same supplies at the 6×6 scrapbook page. Isn’t it lovely? All it needs is a long envelope and it’s ready to be sent out. But, today is my wedding anniversary so I am going to give this one to my dear, sweet hubby.
Supplies used on the 6×6 scrapbook page and the coordinating card:
Stamps: Always
Paper: Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Basic Gray, Naturals White
Ink: Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Accessories: Kraft Taffeta, Dimensionals, 1/2″ Circle Punch, Scallop Punch
The next thing I learned at convention was how to take that very same 6×6″ layout and turn it into an 8.5 x 11″ scrapbook page just by adding another photo and maybe a journaling box. So, that is what I did here. The only alphabet set that I own that is current is the defining alphabet so it was just a bit tedious to tape off the smaller letter everytime I inked up, but I like the end result. The supplies I added to create this page: Defining Alphabet, Designer Button
Then, (oh the thrill!), I took the 8.5×11″ page and now I can show how it can be turned into a 12×12″ page!! Super fun!! And, I feel like I got something accomplished today!!Thanks for stopping by my blog!! Have a great day!
Wow, you sure did accomplish something today! I also hesitate to do scrapbook pages but this turned out beautifully!
Happy Anniversary! And fabulous job on these!
I missed convention, thanks so much for sharing.
Kay, you did an awesome job with this project….you are a good student! Thanks for the reminder that we learned this at convention…I just booked a workshop last night for a stamper who I know scrapbooks more than makes cards, so this technique will be perfect!

Cool concept to go from a 6×6 to 12×12. I love the page! Everything fits together just right.

I love these progressive pages. My upline showed me this one time, but I’ve never tried it. Yours turned out beautifully!
Kay, your pages and card are phenomenal! I had a total “Aha” moment at Convention as well when they demonstrated this idea. Thanks for another great example!
Great way to cater to all class participants! Thanks for sharing this fantastic stuff, Kay!
