I wanted to try my hand at creating an ornament card. I’ve seen them here and there and the idea of creating a card that can then be hung on the Christmas tree appeals to me. I had a friend in mind when I started this card. A friend who lives through the MN winters with her nose buried in a gardening catalog . . . who buys flowers Nov – April just to get her through to spring. With that in mind . . . this card had to have some kind of flower on it. I went straight to my Pretties Kit and the next thing you know I was off and creating a ten minute card!
.
The base of my card is Real Red card stock that is die cut with the Scallop Circle. I cut through both pieces of card stock at the same time. Then, I stamped the Medallion onto Whisper White paper and used the Clear Circle die to make sure that I was in the exact center of my stamped image before running it through the die cut machine. I cut another circle for the inside panel of my card at the same time.
.
The ornament hanger is the Round Tab punch and it is also what is attached to the top and the bottom pieces of my card so it holds together. I used just a bit of silver cording to accent the holder, layered the flower pieces together, stamped a sentiment and I was done. The tiny red flower under the half back pearl is a die cut from Big Bold Cupcakes Sizzlit 4-pack.
