Here is very quick and cute Valentine’s Treat Holder that you can made with the Big Shot and the Petal Card die cut. My club members really enjoyed this and it is such a fast little project that you can make a bunch of them in no time.
.
To make it, just die-cut the Petal Card die with your Big Shot Machine, cut off to of the “petals” so that you are left with a heart shape. Put a 2 1/2″ square piece of coordinating designer series paper into the square of your heart shape. I used a piece of DSP from the paper pack called Pink Flamingo. Fold up the remaining two petals and secure with Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive. If you use tape, it may pop open when you insert the candy. I haven’t had a single problem when I use the Tombow glue. I enhanced the treat holder with a 1″ punched out stamped image from “A Happy Heart” stamp set, and a scrap of white organza ribbon secured with a glue dot.
.
As you can see in the picture below, you can fit a Ghirardelli Chocolate Square into it just perfectly. If the candy wants to pop out a little too quickly, just secure it with a mini glue dot. (And then you won’t be so tempted to munch it right away!)
.

Are you wondering why I have a summer card pictured with my Valentine Treat Holder? You’ll never believe it . . . but the lady bug is made with the two petals that you trim off of your Treat Holder! I went to Splitcoast Stampers earlier this week in search of lady bug cards and THIS CARD by Mai269 was the inspiration I needed to create the summery lady bug card. The trail of words comes from the stamp set called “Flight of the Butterfly.” I decorated up the card just a tad with an embossed butterfly die cut and a pretty scallop trim border.
