I am discovering that I LOVE the challenges at Stampin’ Connection . . . a demo only website providing inspiration, training and friendship. Today’s challenge was to “case” a card in Lisa Young’s gallery. I picked this card pictured here at the left. You can also see it on her blog called Add Ink and Stamp. I loved the flowers, but I’ve been trying to make some manly cards . . . after all, I challenged my team to come up with some “manly” cards for our next swap, so I figured I’d better lead the way!
My card kept the same design, and I even used the Swirls & Scribbles Sizzlit die. However, I changed the colors, the stamp set and instead of three paper roses, I went with three jumbo brads. I also distressed my card a little more intensely by going with the direct to paper technique. (You hold your card edges up to your ink pad and add ink vs using a sponge to add the ink.)

The inside of my card uses a sentiment from On Your Birthday and the theme from the front is carried through to the inside.
