This is the gift card that I made for the GoDiva Gift Card Swap that we had at Convention on Friday at lunch. I had two organized swaps going on at the same time, so I wasn’t able to sit and visit with the GoDiva girls like I wanted to. As usual, the swaps from this group led by Robin Merriman were AMAZING! I think my Convention Roommates took a picture of every single one of them!!
When I attended Milwaukee Regionals in April, we learned about how we could cut apart our Impressions Embossing folders. I cut two strips of dots off my extra Perfect Polka Dots Impressions folder and ran the right edge of my front panel using the two strips of dots and my Big Shot machine. The stamp set is called Compliments to the Chef and I got it FREE with my Sale-a-bration rewards. I’d had that set on my wish list for a long time because I thought it would awesome for making gift cards and for stamping it in my scrapbook for those Romantic Dinners out. (ok . . . so that only happens every five years but a girl can dream! lol!)
The inside of my card features a slot for the gift card that I made using the Word Window Punch. You have to hold the punch up to the bottom edge of the card stock, punch, slide it over just a bit and punch again, otherwise the slot won’t be big enough. I also decorated the area to the right of the gift card by stamping tone on tone and accenting it with the bon appetit sentiment. (What does that actually mean, anyway?) I used a 1/4″ strip of Basic Black paper to create a space in which you can sign your name. I really like the look of that, don’t you?
I am planning a gift card class for September and this is one of the cards that my customers will make. After this awesome swap, I won’t be lacking for ideas!!
