Oh, my goodness . . . I feel “relaxed”! That’s what happens when you take a mini family vacation to the north woods of Wisconsin. We enjoyed a lot of “down” time, a lot of golf and the girls and I buried ourselves in books whenever we could. This summer, I’ve been diving back into a couple of my favorite James Michener novels . . . The Source and The Covenant. I also re-read my favorite Irving Stone novel . . . The Agony and the Ecstasy.
But enough about my reading . . . you are dying to know all about that cute card!! I am thrilled with it! This is my first time to use the Sweetheart stamp set. I decided that I needed a few quick and easy thank you cards and this fit the bill. Do you know how I came up with the color scheme? I used our new color coach! I selected the Rose Red color card and the “creative combination” was Rose Red, Not Quite Navy and River Rock! I wouldn’t have come up with that one by myself . . . but I have to admit that I love the look! I added in Garden Green leaves stamped on Wild Wasabi, a Wild Wasabi anchor (the ground) and I used Very Vanilla for my image layer and sentiment. The color card also suggested Regal Rose as the “dynamic duo” with Rose Red so I put that color into my heart.
Are you wondering how I made the heart? First, I punched it out of Rose Red card stock using the Full Heart Punch, and then I put a bit of Dotto onto so it wouldn’t wiggle on me and layered it onto the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit. I run it through the Big Shot and out comes my Full Heart punch out perfectly decorated with itty bitty embossed dots. The Small Heart Punch adhered with a glue dot adds a sweet touch, especially when you decorate it with one of our elegant Basic Rhinestones.
Have a wonderful day and Happy Stamping!!
