The other day I was cruising around on Stampin’Connection, a Stampin’Up Demo Only Website, when I found the CUTEST card using the 2-Step Owl Punch created by Melanie Kiechle. I found her blog so that I could link it HERE. I’ve had the owl punch nearly a month and still hadn’t created one single thing with it but after seeing Melanie’s card I literally leaped up from my chair, grabbed my owl punch, my papers, my tools and started punching and cutting and assembling . . . it was truly the dance of a Happy Stamper! Sometimes a little inspiration is all it takes!
Of course, I think the cutest thing about this card are the wings on the middle owl. The wings as well as the branches are from the 2-Step Bird Punch. I was a little worried about how I would attach the eyes . . . especially the tiny black circles. This is what worked the best for me. To assemble the two larger circles, I just used Mini Glue Dots. For the tiny black circles, I put just the tiniest dab of Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive into the center of the eye. If you have trouble getting a “tiny” dot of glue out, you can try this – squirt a dab of glue onto a piece of scrap paper and use a toothpick to dab a bit of glue off the scratch paper and onto the eye. Then, put the tiniest amount of glue onto the end of your Paper Piercing Tool. This will temporarily turn your paper piercer into a pick up tool! Now you can pick those tiny black circles with your paper piercer and put them right where you want them!
My customers will get to make this card later this month at my Punch Art Class!
