Today we visited Stampin’ Up’s manufacturing plant in Kanab, UT. The best part of the whole day was getting to know and talk with the people who make it happen for us. This picture shows the employees who were there to greet us as we got off the bus.
There is a beautiful living space in the facility for the Gardner family to gather. So many beautiful displays of Shelli’s favorite things. I think this was one of my favorites and I wanted to share it with you. It’s in the “Bird Room” and my childhood friends would certainly know that I love birds of all kinds so this room has a special appeal to me.
After our tour, we all headed out to “the rock” where a couple of staff people took our pictures.
After the tour and our visit with the rock, we were ready to eat! It was great fun to have fresh grilled chicken, burgers and franks with a couple of delicious salads for our meal. The cookies and bars for dessert were to die for!
Then it was back on the bus to our “secret surprise destination!” We actually had to wear hard hats on the way down! Something about falling rocks . . . .
We were lucky . . . all the rocks stayed put!!
And . . . here we are!! On the other side of that dam was Lake Powell and we were going raftin’ on the Colorado River!! What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon! The weather was absolutely beautiful . . . our boat had a guide that was just full of knowledge and we learned so much while having a boat load of laughs all at the same time!
Sandy Hancock and I shared the bus ride and the boat ride together . . . from sunscreen to blankets . . . we were best buds!
This is a good look at the boats we were on. They took pictures of us while we took pictures of them!
The scenery was majestic.
Half-way through the trip, we made a stop to see prehistoric rock art. I really enjoyed the exhibit . . . just look at how beautiful that picture is and it was created a thousand or more years ago! That’s some long-lasting art work..
Our guide pointed out falcons and I just happened to snap this beautiful picture!
We also go to see some wild horses along the banks of the river.
At the end our three hour tour, there was a delicious supper in an insulated bag that we got to keep as a take home gift!
We left at seven am this morning and arrived back to our rooms about a quarter to ten this evening and when I opened up the door to my room, this was what I found on my bed. A pillow gift to remind me of our beautiful day and our boating adventures on the Colorado River. I remember that exact spot on the river, too. Thank you Stampin’ Up! for all the gifts and the memories that we will treasure from Founder’s Circle 2012.
