The theme for the swap at my Stamping to Share Downline Meeting this month was “Anything Spring.” I recently earned the Level One Stamp set called “Picture This” from the Occasions Mini Catalog and I wanted to feature it in my swap. Somewhere on line (and over the rainbow), I saw an idea that put lolly pops into flower centers. I have searched the world over (& thought I found true love) but turns out I can’t find it!
Oh well, that’s the way it goes once in a while (and sometimes more often!). I love how bright and colorful these flowers are. I used up a bunch of scraps, too! These flowers use all of the flowers from the Flower Folds Die with the exception of the largest flower. The base of each flower is done in Glorious Green and the center of each flower is YoYo Yellow. Did you notice that I ran the flower centers through the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder? Love that look! The flowers between the base and the center were meant to kind of coordinate with the color of the Tootsie Pop. I’m really quite pleased with the way the flowers turned out.
BUT, the crowning touch is the “BEE Happy” sentiment from the “Picture This” stamp set!! Isn’t it just the CUTEST?? And sooooo easy peasy!! All I did was stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White card stock with Basic Black ink. I colored the bee in with a YoYo Yellow marker and then I punched it out with my Word Window Punch. How awesome is that? See, you really can’t live without the Word Window Punch if you are a stamper!!
Are you wondering how I made the hole for the stick? Well, I considered using Jumbo Eyelets or something more professional looking, but it turns out that to make your flower stay on the stick, it needs to be a pretty tight fit. So, this is what I did. First, I used my Paper Piercing Tool to make a hole in the center of my flower. Then I simply used my Bone Folder to enlarge that hole. It works great because it leaves a nice tight fit and your flowers stay put. Just be sure not to make the hole too big. Better too small than too big!!

These are the cutest flowers! I love how you coordinated the petals and the candy wrapper center. I'm definitely putting the petal die on my wish list. Alene
These are adorable, Kay! I love how you only dry-embossed the top layer of the flowers. The little bee sentiment is just too cute!
These are adorable! Thanks for sharing!
