I’ve been rediscovering my love for embossing. There’s just nothing like teaching someone how to emboss and seeing their face absolutely light up with joy at the results. It’s one of the things that really “hooked” me when I was first learning how to stamp way back when!! With Christmas on the way, it’s time to keep those embossing powders handy as they add such elegance to your cards and projects.

Today’s card has an unexpected pairing of colors. I took my inspiration from a party dress I saw at a local store. It was turquoise with a lacey gold overlay. The look was so unexpected that I took notice and as soon as I got home, I tried to recreate that look on a card. It’s probably not to everyone’s liking, but I like the unexpected when it comes to Christmas cards. You’ll also notice that it’s flat. When you are embossing, there is so much flash and shine with the gold that you really don’t need to add a lot of embellishments!
