Stampin' Up! Snow is Glistening Card in Black and White using Black Foil and White Velvet created by Kay Kalthoff with FREE PDF for #stampingtoshare

The Limited Edition (November 2018 Only) Snowflake Showcase is here and available to order from. You can find all the details in my Online Store where you will see the products available and links to place an order. Visit that page by clicking on Kay’s Online Snowflake Showcase Page.  The Snowfall Thinlits are just so beautiful and coordinate gorgeously with both stamp sets.

The card that I am sharing with you today is done in trendy Black and White. I used the Black Foil Sheets found on page 49 of our 2018 Holiday Catalog. The large snowflake is cut from the White Velvet Sheets which are part of the limited edition Snowflake Showcase.

The dots of snow falling from the top of the card and the sentiment are stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. To make sure that I didn’t have any stray smears of white embossing powder (which is sometimes fine, but I was going to a clean cut look) I used the Embossing Buddy over the Black Foil in the areas that I wanted to stamp. This served two purposes! In addition to keeping stray speckles of powder off my card, it also enabled me to actually “see” where I had stamped. Turns out, when you stamp with Versamark on Black Foil, it pretty much disappears and it’s almost impossible to see! But with the chalky layer that I put down with the embossing buddy, it was easy peasy to know just where I had stamped. To remove excess chalkiness, just wipe away with a soft towel or a Kleenex after you have thoroughly heat embossed your project and it has cooled completely.

The small matted snowflake in the center was cut from Champagne Foil which is pretty much the exact same color as the Snowflake Trinkets (again, a special limited edition item that is part of this showcase). I put the trinket on with a glue dot and I accented the center of the snowflake with a frosted droplet, found on page 37 of the 2018 Holiday Catalog.

I collaborated with a couple of demonstrators and we created a PDF file of 12 Snowflake Showcase Cards. I am posting the first of my shares today and I will post the second one on Thursday so be sure to stay tuned! To see the PDF for my share click on Snow is Glistening with Snowfall Thinlits

If you are one of my customers, or you are a new customer and you order the Snowfall Thinlits plus at least one of the two featured Snowflake Showcase stamp sets, I will “gift” you with a PDF featuring 12 card ideas for the showcase! it’s a little extra goodie from me to you!
